I’ve never been one to blog, but this is just too wonderful not to share. My friends and I were watching Channel 2 last night and heard about ShopMyNeighborhood. It’s a program for 80012-80018, and each time you shop with one of the mercants that are signed up, they swipe your membership card and give you cents off at the pump as a thank you for shopping with them and shopping locally. A way to keep ma and pop stores alive and cleaner environment? Yes please. Poo to the big companies. They get enough money and it isn’t helping me any. I want to lower my gas bills doing my regular shopping, and this will do the trick. I called the number on shopmyneighborhood.com to get more info, and it sounds great. This weekend, 3rd through the 5th, they’re kicking off the program with 76 cents off a gallon up to 17 gallons and free memberships. Crazy cool stuff.

Building upon longtime successful charity partnerships, such as the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA), direct advertising leader, Cause Marketing Solutions, Inc (CMS) announces the launch of promotions throughout Aurora, Centennial and surrounding areas of Colorado benefiting the U.S. Wounded Soldiers Foundation (www.uswoundedsoldiers.com). The organization, which provides support for combat veterans who were deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, was founded in March 2003.

CMS works with local businesses and restaurants to develop unmatched discounts for products and services that are then introduced to consumers in their Community Savings Books. The organization has chosen to donate a percentage of the proceeds from each sale of their market-specific Community Savings Books directly to the U.S. Wounded Soldiers Foundation.

Consumers can purchase professional CMS Savings Books through authorized distributors of D1 Marketing, Inc. (visit www.d1marketing.com for more information).

Aurora, Colorado has a hospital. Aurora has many medical professionals operating in a variety of specialties. Fundamental healthcare begins with an individual or family?s access to a general physician, call it a family doctor or for children, a Pediatrician and for women a Gynecologist. Certainly, for people like me, a good therapist; better yet, a Psychiatrist! But why is it that someone in Aurora, Colorado cannot locate a physician that will take new patients?
CityBlog Aurora, was struck by the frustration that was apparent in Susie Pena’s (a Aurora, Colorado resident) post on May 9, 2007, which read as follows:
I have been here 1 year this June and have yet to find a doctor that will accept new patients. I am very discouraged that there is no avenue for new residents to find out who is available without a lot of labor intensive efforts.
Does Aurora have a physician association or, does the hospital know of new physicians coming into Aurora that are looking for new patients? It would behoove all communities to have some centralized service that maintains a list of physicians who can accept patients as either “new” or on a rotating basis until the new resident can establish regular healthcare.
